Design for the cable, not the photo

Measure the MDX-250 gun and cable length, then choose a location with enough clearance for a wide loop. Avoid hanging the gun by the connector or placing a tight kink near the handle.

Keep the hanger away from hot metal, moving wheels, the gas hose and the machine's cooling openings.

Make a stable mounting point

Use thicker stock or a bolted reinforcement because the gun and cable are heavier than a small torch lead. Check square, weld both sides where accessible and remove sharp edges.

The Multimatic requires a professional high-voltage installation; this project does not modify its input power.

Test the loop and clearance

Mount the empty hanger and check it cannot swing into a walkway. Hang the gun with a broad loop, then verify the connector has no tension and the cable does not touch the floor.

Open the garage and use local exhaust when welding the project. Keep the finished hanger out of the machine's lifting path.
