How First Bead Reviews Welders

Every recommendation should show what kind of evidence supports it. Our labels make the boundary visible.

Desk review

A desk review evaluates the exact model's manual, manufacturer specifications, included accessories, warranty language and seller information. It can establish what a machine claims, which circuit it expects and what information is missing.

A desk review cannot establish arc feel, spatter, wire-feed quality over time, impact resistance or long-term support quality. When we have not tested the machine, the page does not imply that we have.

Hands-on review

A hands-on review requires documented access to the exact machine, material, process, consumables and test conditions. We preserve the method and expose the limits of the test rather than turning one afternoon into a universal durability claim.

The current First Bead launch set does not claim hands-on testing for its two reviewed machines. They are clearly labelled desk reviews.

Specification checks

We compare input voltage, output range, duty cycle at a stated amperage, process, thickness guidance, weight, included accessories and warranty. A model number is not treated as a specification.

Where a manufacturer does not publish a useful input-current or duty-cycle figure, the page says so. It does not borrow a number from a similar model.

Corrections and updates

A review is revisited when the manual, model, warranty, seller or material product configuration changes. The page date records the last editorial check.

Send corrections to Affiliate@firstbead.com with the exact model, the disputed statement and a source that can be reviewed.
